Job Description

About the role:

Seymour College is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Education Support Officer (ESO) to work with our Middle Primary students. This fixed-term role works 37.5 hours per week during term time through to the end of 2026, is ideal for someone passionate about inclusive education and student wellbeing.

Working closely with the classroom teacher and Learning Support team, you will play a key role in supporting student learning and engagement. You will assist in delivering tailored learning programs, including supporting students with Individual Learning Plans (ILPs), and contribute to a positive, inclusive classroom environment. The key responsibilities are to:

  • Provide in-class support to a Year 4 cohort under the direction of the classroom teacher
  • Deliver targeted one-to-one and small group support for students requiring additional assistance
  • Assist in the preparation and organisation of classroom resources and learning materials
  • Support the implementation of individual learning strategies and programs
  • Contribute to the monitoring and recording of student progress
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to learning support programs
  • Promote student wellbeing through a supportive and encouraging approach

About you:

You are a collaborative and proactive professional who is passionate about supporting student learning. You bring:

  • Experience in an Education Support Officer (ESO) role or similar within a school setting
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new systems
  • A flexible and responsive approach to supporting diverse student needs
  • A current South Australian Working with Children Check, First Aid Certificate (HLTAID012), and RRHAN-EC Fundamentals and Masterclass training.
